You do need to get some IV drip regulators to make this work though. They allow you to regular how fast or slow the liquid is released into the soil which brilliantly translates to gardening since we all know you never want to overwater your plants.
Lamps, A Wagon and Picture Frame
This is a potpourri of different vintage and old items that are probably in the attic, shed or storage locker somewhere.
They work perfectly together which tells you that you can use a combination of different unwanted items to create a lovely design for a blank section of your yard.

You need nothing more than the two items and your imagination on how you’ll organize them.
Rain Boot Planters
Put some of those or rain or gardening boots to use by planting a few herbs or flowers in them. Boots are perfect for taller plants as well as those whose roots like to dig deep into the soil.
Upcycled Used Soda Bottles
We all have old soda bottles. And, if you don’t know what to do with them, why not try this.
By cutting out the middle section of the bottle, you’ll be able to add soil and grow a few herbs or other smaller plants there.
Granted, a bottle on its own won’t give you a lot of space. So, lining up multiple bottles is a good idea.
Hanging Colander Planter
Instead of using a basket, why not a colander.
They’re perfect for plants because of their shape. And, they’ve got holes as well. This makes it easy for oxygen to get to the roots. And, any excess water to easily drain out.
Old Metal Laundry Tub
Laundry tubs likewise make good planters because they give you enough space. Add to that their depth. And, you’ve got yourself something very suitable for soil to grow plants in.

Bird cages are designed to be hung. And, they’ve got lots of opening for plants to grow out from. This makes them perfect for hanging.
Do note that it is harder to water the plants inside the cage.

Have an old seed spreader that’s collecting dust in the shed? Here’s something you can do with it.
This upcycled garden decoration idea easily blends into any yard because that’s where it is naturally used anyway. The trough gives you a lot of space to grow your plants.
And, depending on the type of seed spreader you have and the space it can take, you may be able to grow an entire bed of flowers there.
Hanging Old Cans on a String
This is simple, yet pretty. All you need is some string and a few used cans.
Cans make good substitutes for pots because of their shape. And, you don’t have to worry about them breaking even if you drop them.
Make sure to paint the cans. You can use solid colors or add some designs and patterns as well.
Flowering High Chair
High chairs are another great item for upcycling in the garden. That’s because they have a lot of form. Their height, the spaces in between the legs and the flat layout of the seat give you many different interesting opportunities to grow flowers on and around.
Using plants with large, colorful blooms are a great way of bringing out the best in this design.
Watering Can Decor
This is one of the pretties upcycled DIY garden décor ideas I’ve ever seen. The addition of the colorful stones at the bottom simulating water is pure genius.
And, the best part is, you really don’t need anything besides that and a watering can. There’s likewise no need to cut or fabricate anything.
Lamp Planter
Old lamps take up a lot of space because of their size. While that can use up vertical space in storage, its height is an asset as garden décor.
This is especially true for lamps with large bowls. This allows you to grow different plants inside the bowl.
Table & Drawers Planter
Old tables and drawers are perfect as garden décor and planters because they give you enough space to place pots in. You can also use the space in drawers to grow an herb garden if you wish.
